The Intro

If you want to know what's going on, so do we...

You may know everything there is to know about Scott from his sermons, but this is a great chance to hear about the other people on staff here at Zootown.

We’re not faking it. On this podcast or in church. During the podcast, we want you to feel like you are in our meetings or at a staff hang out, where we just laugh and have fun.

WHAT we learned on the zootown podcast:

"Birkenstocks and socks - it will always be a thing." - Spencer
So would you rather have your feet show?
"Feet are weird, but at least God made them." - Thaiv

Spencer Powell is from Missoula. After high school he moved to Australia for a year and came back to work at Zootown Brew (while going to another church). He then went to Seattle to work for a “big” church. Spencer met his wife, Linnea, at the “big” church. He then felt God calling him back to Missoula, and a week later both Scott and Kyle called him and asked him about moving back here. Spencer has worked at Zootown since 2014.

Marcy Askvig is from Spokane Valley, otherwise known as Spokandy Land, or Spokompton.  She came to Montana for college. A friend showed her Zootown Church a week after school started, and she hasn’t gone to another church since. She first met her husband, Draylen, while he was “the hot guitar player” at Crew, but they officially met when they lived in a campus ministry house called the AO house with 28 roommates.  Ironically, Draylen turned down a job at Zootown so he could work at camp with Marcy, and then Marcy later ended up working at Zootown. They have been married since 2015

Kyle was born and raised in Missoula. He grew up going to Valley Christian, where he met his now wife, Dani, in 6th grade. After graduating high school, Kyle had the option to play soccer for a school and take out a government loan, or go to online school and stay here in Missoula. He took out a loan from his grandma, affectionately known as GG, who later forgave his loan. He really loves working at Zootown and getting to spread the good news to Jesus to the city that he loves. He and his wife Dani have three kids.

Thaiv (pronounced Ty) was raised in Missoula. He was homeschooled and absolutely loved hanging out with his three brothers. In high school, he took his now wife on their first date to a skatepark - in December. She dumped him (duh) and Thaiv won her back by being a nice guy, and they have now been married 14 years. He loves worship because it was in worship that he had his first real experience with Jesus that he can remember.
